the nation’s energy needs. Times have changed and demands
have increased, leaving the nation in a vulnerable position as
we have become dependent on foreign sources. 
 
As America’s Energy Epicenter, West Texas is in the unique
position of being able, once again, to lead the nation’s energy
evolution. This evolution not only means advancing fossil-based
fuel technology but exploration of renewable energy sources,
which are plentiful in our region. 

That’s why West Texas Energy Technology Initiative – ETI –
was formed: to capitalize on our region’s energy potential.
By fostering innovation and commercialization of emerging
energy technologies, ETI is making a difference in our future. 

To West Texas, this means exciting opportunities that include
a better future for our children, higher standards of living, higher
paying wages - and lower taxes. To America, it means less
